| We publish in this contribution the abstract of 65 documents included in a piece of the oldest notary record («protocolo») in the city of Baeza (Jaén); with a brief background, we insert a set of instruments that reflects the existence of a rich commercial, agricole and artisanal life, specially through the figure of some specific contracts called «obligaciones» (or the obligation to pay a debt). |
